Pack the essentials
It’s important to ensure all your pet’s essential items are packed, including bowls, food and travel water bottles. Particularly in the summer months, making frequent hydration stops will keep your pet happy and stop them from overheating.
Don’t forget to bring their collar and lead, especially when making pit stops. You want to keep watch on them at all times when pulling up to take a break, so be sure to keep them close.
Pack their favorite toys too, so they can feel more at home. This will help reduce any anxiousness if they have a cuddly friend nearby.
Vet details
Wherever you’re traveling, ensure to do a bit of research on where the local vet practice will be. Emergencies can occur at any time, so it’s best to always be prepared.

Medication
As some dogs can be prone to stress and anxiety when traveling, it’s worth packing some medication to help ease the symptoms.

Never leave your pet in a vehicle when it’s hot, as the temperature inside a vehicle can be double what it is outside. Keep them cool by turning on the air conditioning or opening the windows slightly to let some air in.
