A Brief Biography of Karima Jackson

Karima Jackson was born on the 17th of February, 1994, making her currently 30 years old. She’s preceded by two older brothers and has one younger brother and one younger sister, making her the middle child in the Jackson household.

Unlike a lot of celebrity kids, Karima prefers to stay out of the spotlight, so most of her life stays private. She earned her bachelor’s degree from Rutgers University in New Brunswick, specializing in sociology. However, her education road didn’t end there. After earning her degree, she went on to get her master’s degree in child advocacy from Montclair State University.

She focused her studies on public child welfare, and it helped her later on when she became a full-time philanthropist. After that, she earned another master’s degree from Rutgers University, but this time, she focused her studies on public administration. She’s currently working at the Rutgers School of Public Affairs and Administration as a research fellow.

The Career of Karima Jackson

While she was getting her bachelor’s degree, Karima Jackson was busy being an assistant program director at St. John’s Community Services. It was the first brick in her road to philanthropy.

After leaving community service, she started working as a family service specialist in the state of New Jersey. After a while, she earned a promotion and became a family service supervisor.

Eventually, Karima joined the Anti-Racist Alliance organization in North Jersey, and she founded her own charitable organization in 2014 called Organize Change, Inc. The organization is currently still running, and Karima is its executive director. At the same time, she’s busy earning a Ph.D. at Rutgers University.

An Overview of Karima Jackson’s Family

Karima Jackson grew up in a crowded household of seven members. She lived with her four siblings and two parents until she was old enough to become independent. Here’s an overview of her family:

Parents

Karima Jackson is the middle child and first daughter of Ice Cube, otherwise called O’Shea Jackson, and his wife, Kimberly Woodruff. Ice Cube and Kimberly met for the first time at the Fox Hills mall in 1989. It was apparently love at first sight when Kimberly caught Jackson’s eye while she was on the escalator.

Unfortunately for Ice Cube, Kimberly wasn’t single at the time, so she turned him down. However, fate reunited them again after six months, and this time, Kimberly was single. Only two years later, the couple gave birth to their oldest son, O’Shea Jr. A year after the birth of their son, in 1992, the couple tied the knot, and the rest was history!

Siblings

Karima Jackson has two older brothers, one younger brother, and one younger sister. Here’s a rundown of her siblings:

O’Shea Jackson Jr.

O’Shea was born in 1991, and he’s the only child in the household born out of wedlock. Growing up, O’Shea didn’t like his name despite being named after his famous father. However, he mentioned that he started liking the name when he was 17 years old when he realized how unique his name was.

O’Shea graduated from the William Howard Taft High School and later attended the University of Southern California. However, he dropped out after a while to pursue an acting career.

The big break in O’Shea’s career was his role in Straight Outta Compton, where he portrayed his father. After that, he landed plenty of roles, including in Godzilla: King of the Monsters.

Darrel Jackson

Darrel Jackson is the second son of Ice Cube, and he was born around 8 months after the rapper and his wife tied the knot. Like his brother, Darrel attended the William Howard Taft High School, but he didn’t go to college. Instead, he decided to pursue a musical career, where he performed under the name Doughboy.

Because he comes from a talented family, Darrel managed to collaborate with his father and older brother in Raw Footage, the 2008 album.

He’s currently working for Lench Mob Records, a record label owned by none other than his father. On top of that, he’s working with Ice Cube’s production company, Cube Vision. He was even a producer on the set of Straight Outta Compton, where his brother portrayed his father.

Deja and Shareef Jackson

Being the youngest siblings in the Jackson household, Deja and Shareef mostly stay out of the spotlight. Deja was supposedly born in 1994, though we don’t know whether that makes her and Karima twins. Because she prefers to stay in the shadows, no one knows details about her personal life.

She might be the most mysterious child in the famous family. Meanwhile, Shareef was born in 2001, making him the youngest of his siblings. He rarely appears in public, and his appearances are mostly at baseball or basketball games with his father.

Final Thoughts

Karima Jackson is the first daughter and middle child of Ice Cube and his wife, Kimberly Woodruff. She was born in 1994, and she is currently 30 years old. Although her two older brothers follow in their father’s footsteps and work in the music industry, Karima decided to become a full-time philanthropist and dedicate most of her time to charity.

She founded a charitable organization in 2014 called Organize Change, Inc., and she’s currently working on earning her Ph.D.
