Francis Antetokounmpo was born on October 20, 1988, to Charles and Veronica Antetokounmpo. Francis was their first child, and the family resided in Lagos, Nigeria.

After a solid season, he made the NBA the following year, being selected by the New York Knicks in the 2014 NBA Draft.
Thanasis then returned to Europe and played in the Spanish and Greek leagues.
However, Thanasis started his second stint in the NBA in 2019 when he joined the Milwaukee Bucks. He’s currently still with the team and most recently represented his country in the 2023 FIBA World Championship.
