10. John Terry – $244,980 per week
The Chelsea F.C. captain and defender has been playing for the team since 1995. He moved from the West Ham youth team to the Chelsea youth team at the age of 14 and signed a professional contract three years later.
9. Mesut Ozil – $251,988 per week
The German midfielder transferred to Arsenal F.C. from Real Madrid with a club record fee of $65.5 million.
8. Eden Hazard – $258,975 per week
The Belgian player was named the most valuable midfielder in the world in 2012 when he transferred to Chelsea F.C. from Lille OSC for $50 million.
7. Cesc Fabregas – $279,980 per week
The Spanish midfielder transferred to Chelsea F.C. this season from Barcelona F.C. for $42 million. Although he was not one of the most expensive transfers of the season but he did manage to rank seventh in the list of most expensive players of the league regardless.
6. Sergio Aguero – $314,970 per week
The argentinian striker transferred from Atletico Madrid to Manchester City for $54 million in 2011.
5. Robin Van Persie – $314,970 per week
The Dutch striker had one of the most controversial transfers in the league in 2011 when he moved from Arsenal F.C. to their rival team, Manchester United, for $34.7 million. His jersey has been the top selling jersey of the league the past two years.
4. Yaya Toure – $335,973 per week
The Ivory Coast captain and Manchester City midfielder moved to the club from Barcelona F.C. for $37 million in 2010.
3. Radamel Falcao – $371,130 per week
The Colombian striker was transferred from Atletico Madrid to AS Monaco for a staggering $67 million. Falcao is currently on this list because he is playing for Manchester United this season on a loan.
2. Angel Di Maria – $392,135 per week
The Argentinian Winger made transfer history this season when Manchester United signed him for $92 million from Real Madrid.
1. Wayne Rooney – $433,260 per week
It should come as no surprise that british league’s highest paying player is the captain of the England national team and captain of Manchester United, Wayne Rooney. He moved to United from Everton in 2004 for $41 million.
