Genie Bouchard, the rising 20-year-old star from Montreal, has had an incredible 2014. She reached the semifinals at both the Australian and French opens, and after a second-place finish at Wimbledon on Saturday, she will rise to a career-high No. 7 world ranking. She has proven to be a fierce competitor with a great personality that has won over tennis fans around the world. With already over 700,000 Facebook likes, Bouchard is ahead of Chinese star Li Na and well on her way to passing other top players Victoria Azarenka and Caroline Wozniaki, who each have just over 1 million. The tall blonde exemplifies class, elegance and tenacity, and her on-court success will take her marketability to the next level.

Currently, she is represented by French agency Lagardere Unlimited, and as her contract expires this year, agencies such as IMG are lining up to sign the young phenom: “We would love to represent Eugenie Bouchard. . . . We’ve stressed our interest to sign her. We’ve been in touch with her,” says Fernando Soler, head of IMG Tennis in an interview at Wimbledon. If IMG were to sign Bouchard, she would join their current roster of stars that includes Maria Sharapova, Venus Williams, Novak Djokovic and Li Na. They all have endorsement lists twice as long as Bouchard, who is sponsored by Nike, Babolat, and Rogers Communications.

That list is soon to grow. Expect the Canadian to have a strong hard-court season as she prepares for the last grand slam, the U.S. Open, beginning Aug. 25.
